To save the UK's charities, the organisers of the London Marathon came up with the idea of having the 2.6 Challenge in lieu of the 2020 London Marathon (the world's largest one day charity fundraiser) which, along with many other fundraising events, had sadly been cancelled due to COVID-19.
Members of the public were asked to come up with fundraising activities around the numbers 2.6 and 26 in order to help save the UK's charities including those, like ours, which supports projects overseas.
Two members of the UK team, Emily Brown (together with her two sons James and Tommy) and Clive Newland, took up the Challenge and invited supporters, friends, family and colleagues to sponsor their fundraising activities which were a 2.6 x 2.6 mile run around Richmond Park and a 26 x 26 times run around the kitchen respectively.
The two challenges raised over £3,400 for Project Hospice Nepal.
